Marguarite Clark Full Bio

Marguarite Clark is a seasoned public relations veteran with 20 years of public relations and related marketing experiences in the areas of hospitality, luxury products and specialty services. 

Based in Laguna Niguel, Clark started her own firm, Marguarite Clark Public Relations, in 2005. She manages client public relations needs for her esteemed roster of high-end resorts/hotels, spas, golf facilities, restaurants and specialty businesses, including: The Grand Del Mar and its signature restaurant Addison in San Diego; Royal Davui Island Resort in Fiji; Cap Juluca in Anguilla; Bijou French Bistro in La Jolla; Selanne Steak Tavern in Laguna Beach; Montpelier Plantation & Beach in Nevis; Chef Ryan Adams of Three Seventy Common in Laguna Beach and The North Left in Santa Ana and Warren Sheets Design, Inc.

Clark's recent client list includes public relations work for the luxurious Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Beach; The Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation; Goose & Gander restaurant in St. Helena; La Quinta Resort & Club and its new signature restaurant Morgan's in the desert; and Island Hotel Newport Beach. She has also worked with Noble House Hotels & Resorts; Three Forks Ranch; RATUA, a private island retreat in the South Pacific; Seasons 52 restaurants in Southern California; and opening campaigns for Bonefish Grill in Southern California. 

Launching new resorts, hotels and restaurants is a significant part of Clark's business. Her firm successfully "opened" the independently owned and operated The Grand Del Mar and its signature dining restaurant Addison, both of which have won a slew of prestigious awards and much critical acclaim including Forbes Five-Star designations for the resort, its spa and Addison. Other launches and branding include RH Restaurant & Bar at Hyatt's Andaz West Hollywood; Laguna Beach's Sapphire Laguna restaurant and specialty shop Sapphire Pantry; and the American Cheesemaker Awards.

In addition, Clark has been instrumental in highly successful client repositioning including the transition of the former Four Seasons Newport Beach to the Island Hotel, a beautifully refurbished AAA Five Diamond urban hotel owned and operated by the Irvine Company. She also repositioned the newly modernized iconic Riviera Palm Springs for Noble House Hotels & Resorts and Idaho's luxurious Whitetail Club & Resort (now The Shore Lodge).

As corporate director of public relations for Montage Hotels & Resorts, she opened Montage Laguna Beach and its signature restaurant Studio in 2003, and helped launch the hotel company into the marketplace. In this capacity, she also oversaw public relations and lobbying efforts for Montage Beverly Hills during a heated citywide effort to gain public sanctioning of the project. She also assisted with other Montage development and acquisition announcements.

Prior to Montage, she was regional director of public relations for Starwood Hotels & Resorts, overseeing public relations strategies and programs for The Phoenician, Scottsdale's premier luxury resort, and The Wigwam Resort, an historic property outside of Phoenix.

She was also regional director of public relations for Loews Hotels, supervising public relations, special events and community outreach for Loews Coronado Bay Resort and Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel. She also served in a similar capacity for the Bel-Air Hotel Company, where she helped reposition the 120-room L'Auberge Del Mar Resort & Spa, as well as several boutique properties on the West Coast of Mexico.

A member of Les Dames d'Escoffier and the Public Relations Society of America, Clark is also a certified sommelier and enjoys cooking, entertaining and yoga.
